Qualified applicants are owners of designated heritage properties under Part IV or Part V of the Ontario Heritage Act located in London, Ontario at the time of application.

Other heritage projects that fall within Archaeological Heritage, Cultural Landscapes, Moveable Heritage, or Natural Heritage in the City of London are eligible for a different stream of funding.

These grants are supported by the London Endowment for Heritage Fund, which was established by the City of London.

Application Information

London Community Foundation collects applications, and an ad hoc committee of the Community Advisory Committee on Planning evaluates the application and allocates the amount of grant money to be received by each approved application.

Grant monies received must be expended within 24 months from the date notification is received.

All grant monies are made payable from London Community Foundation to the City of London who hold the funds in trust. Grant money is distributed to approved applicants from the City when photographs and receipts of completed and approved work are submitted to the City staff.

For grants in support of heritage properties, the amount may be considered taxable income – it is recommended that successful grantees consult with a tax professional to determine how it is to be reported.
